Overview

Retaining cart items allows your customer to continue where they left off when they return to your store another time. The products and quantities added to their cart are stored for a set number of days. If the customer returns within this period, they will not have to find the same items again and re-add them. NOTE - Prices will always refresh to the most up-to-date.Cart abandonment is common to all online stores. A potential customer adds items to their cart, then leaves without making the purchase. Or a non-logged in (guest) user loses their cart items when they have been inactive for a period (30 minutes or more on the Commerce Vision platform).

The Cart Retention feature can save and restore the user's cart contents under two scenarios:

  • guest (not logged in) user session timeout (when user closes the browser or is idle for at least 30 minutes
  • cart abandonment by guest or logged in user (when user adds items to their shopping cart but leaves your store without making the purchase).  



Retaining cart items stores products and quantities a customer adds to their cart for a set number of days. When they return within this period, They can just continue to shop where they left off. They will not have to find the same items again and re-add them. NOTE - Prices of products in a retained cart will always refresh to the most up-to-date.
