Web site administrators will need to refer to this information when they need to set up SEO-friendly URLs, also knows as page routes, for a site. This is especially useful for Custom pages (see Creating custom pages) to give them a meaningful and SEO-friendly URL.

To Create a Page Route:

  1. Login as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to 'Settings' --> 'SEO' or 'Page Routes' (zSearchEngineOptimisationMaintenance).
  3. Click the 'URL Routing' tab.

  4. Click on 'New' which is located below the grid containing the page routes.
  5. Insert the relevant details into each field Populate the fields as required (refer to the legend below).
  6. Click on 'OK' to create the page route or 'Cancel' to not insert the page routesave.
  7. Click on 'Re-register Routes' in order for the new page route to be operational for the site.

It is important to note that page routes are checked each time a search is performed. Lower sequence numbers are examined first – therefore frequently used pages (i.e. 'Home', 'Login'), should have a lower value than pages such as 'Terms & Conditions', which might only be viewed occasionally. 

 

To Edit a Page Route:

  1. Login as an Administrator.

  3. Click the 'URL Routing' tab.

  4. Search for the required page route.
  5. Select the record via radio button.
  6. Click 'Modify'.
  7. Update the details as required.
  8. Click 'OK' to save.
  9. Click 'Re-register Routes' in order for the edited page route to be operational for the site.
