Credit Card Fee Override allows applicable default surcharge rates in the system to be overriden bypassed for payment of account invoices by nominated Roles and/or Users. This feature is available for version 4.17 and higher, and must be switched on and set up by CV Support. |
Credit Card Fee Override is available for credit card payment of invoices by Role or User. Once set up, at the Pay Accounts page, an applicable user paying an invoice can enter a new percentage rate within a set range. This feature assumes the following has been :

For example, an override can be set for the Accounts role and a discount on the credit card surcharge can be used for preferred Customers or to incentivise them to pay off outstanding invoices.

Prerequisites
A default rate applicable to the user is active in the system
for the customer (see Credit Card Surcharges)

- payment of invoices by credit card has been turned on

- Select the Orders tab.
- Select the Credit Cards tab.
- Set 'Allow Credit Card Payments (Moved to Setting Def)' to Yes Both Order and Account Payment.
- Click Update.

When the feature is set up by CV, you supply details about each Override: (i) the Role(s) and User(s) that will have access to the Override, and (ii) the override fee range: minimum and maximum fees (%). |
Process
When the Credit Card Override feature is switched onactive, in the Account Payment page will display if the User or their Role has been set up for an override and the user selects to pay by credit card.
Below is a sample invoice with available payment options.

Notice if you start to enter a credit card number, the surcharge field appears and a 'Charges' line is added in the invoice .

Because the override is on, you can enter a fee (%) within the nominated range when the Override feature was set up. The extra charge will be calculated automatically and displayed in the 'Charges' line in the invoice.

Pay Accounts page, a valid user can override the default rate with one that is within the set Override range.

The user will notice that there is a 'Charges' line in the invoice. The amount charged is recalculated automatically if a new rate is applied.
