In some situations you may want to make entry of Customer Self Service features functionality whereby an Order Reference either mandatory or optional per customer/account.can be made mandatory based on the Customer/Account.

This page information only applies to a B2B Environment, A customer references environment; a customer reference is never mandatory in a B2C scenario.

Step-by-step guide

To set-up the Customer for Mandatory or Optional Order Reference Entryupdate the 'Mandatory Order Reference' flag for a Customer:

  1. Login as an administratorAdministrator.
  2. Go to the customer maintenance page
  3. Enter the account/customer code, click enter and select the customer in the results
  4. Click the Customer Details tab
  5. Click Modify
  6. Check or uncheck the "Is Order Reference Mandatory" checkbox as neededNavigate to 'Accounts' --> 'Customer Maintenance'.
  7. Search for the required Account Code. 
  8. Select the customer record via radio button.
  9. Click the 'Customer Details' tab.
  10. Click 'Modify'.
  11. Set the value of the 'Is Order Reference Mandatory' flag as required.
