Commerce Vision's CV eCommerce platform's multisite features need to be implemented by Commerce Visionecommerce platform has built-in functions that provide content publishing management for organisations with multiple sites (multisites). All sites in your organisation network must be on the same version for remote content deployment. Min.
version 2022.3.

Overview

Multisite Content Management functions aim to enhance content sharing and control for organisations with two or more CV ecommerce websites in their networks.

What is content?

  • Content Lock allows specific content items to be locked on a website. Locked items can only be edited or deleted by certain CMS users on Role-based permissioning.
  • Deploy Content allows saved content items from a source website to be copied over to one or more target websites. When Content Lock is also in use, lockable content items can be copied over in 'locked' status. This prevents any CMS user of a target site from editing or deleting that item.

How can my business use Multisite Content Management?

Content Lock and Deploy Content can be used separately or in tandem, to provide solutions for a variety of purposes.

  • Want content items to just be shareable across sites without adding publishing control? Enable Deploy Content only. This allows a non-lockable content item from any one site to be copied and published on any other site(s). It can always be edited and deleted by the target site's CMS users.

  • Want some content items to be controlled by a single source site? Enable Content Lock and Deploy Content. Non-lockable content items can still be shared, unrestricted. But now, a lockable content item in 'locked' status can also be sent to be published automatically on the target site. The locked icon next to the item tells CMS users there that they cannot edit or delete it. To allow editing on the target site, just deploy the content item again, this time in 'unlocked' status.

  • Want content control as a single site business? Enable Content Lock only. Take advantage of the Role-based permissioning to restrict publishing of locked items to specific CMS users.

These features are controlled by a new CMS Role - Content Administrator that can be assigned to specific CMS users. (with the existing Administrator role .

Multisite control

Locking and deploying allow management of content across a network of multiple CV sites. Whether the sites are in a parent-child relationship (e.g., franchiserfrOur role-based anchiser-franchisee sites) or just have some shared content, head office or management can control what content is centralised and what can be localised on individual sites.

Deploy Content: Content changes and some settings can be made on the parent site and pushed out to selected linked sites.
