utilise Multisite Content Management?

Content Lock and Deploy Content can be used separately or in tandem, to provide solutions for a variety of purposes.

  • Want content items to just be shareable across sites without adding publishing control? Enable Deploy Content only. This allows a non-lockable content item from any one site to be copied and published on any other site(s). It can always be edited and deleted by the target site's CMS users.

  • Want some content items to be controlled by a single source site? Enable Content Lock and Deploy Content. Non-lockable content items can still be shared, unrestricted. But now, a lockable content item in 'locked' status can also be sent to be published automatically on the target site. The locked icon next to the item tells CMS users there that they cannot edit or delete it. To allow free the locked item for editing on the target site, just deploy the that content item again, this time in 'unlocked' status.

  • Want content control as a single site business? Enable Content Lock only. Take advantage of the Role-based permissioning to restrict publishing of locked items to specific CMS roles or users.

These features are controlled by a new CMS Role - Content Administrator that can be assigned to specific CMS users. (with the existing Administrator role .

Multisite control

Locking and deploying allow management of content across a network of multiple CV sites. Whether the sites are in a parent-child relationship (e.g., frOur role-based anchiser-franchisee sites) or just have some shared content, head office or management can control what content is centralised and what can be localised on individual sites.

Managing multiple independent websites on the CV platform enables standardised design elements and content, quick rollouts of updates and upgrades across networked sites, and ready publishing of shared elements and customisations,

Content Lock: By use of a Content Admin role with locking permissions, a user on a parent site can deploying a locked status to a content item, e.g., a template, widget, article, banner, etc, on child sites.
