How do I control what fields are searchable for a product?
Step-by-step guide
To mark a field against the product property as searchable
- Login as an Administrator
- Go to the "Dictionary"
- Enter "Product" in the Table Name
- Click "Define"
- Enter the name of the field in the Search For area
- Select Contains or Starts With
- Click "Search"
- Select the field required
- Click "Modify"
- Tick the Search Field checkbox
- Click OK
When marking fields that are searchable, be mindful of the total number of fields that are marked searchable and the content in these fields. These fields should add value to the search by returning better results if ticked.
