Contract selling needs implementation by Commerce Vision. 

Overview

Contract Product Ribbons adds product ribbons on contracted products. These display on the product for users when the contract condition applies to them. Contract ribbons highlight to such users that they qualify for a special price or bonus offer, etc, on that product.


Contract conditions are usually defined in your ERP and custom integrated online. You can upload custom contract ribbons and add a product overrides if product groups and catalogues have been used to define contract products.  


Features:
  • Contract Ribbon Override: add a product override so that another ribbon is displayed
  • Contract Ribbon Type: create tiered or multiple contract conditions, each set with its own ribbon. (This is an extension which requires version 4.37+ and Commerce Vision implementation.) 

Contract ribbons are only displayed to valid logged in users. Both products and customer groups both need to qualify for a contract ribbon flag to appear.

Add a standard contract ribbon for a product

The standard contract ribbon feature is automatically available if Ribbon Flag Maintenance is enabled. Just add the pre-defined product and customer group codes.    


  1. In the CMS, go to Settings → Feature Management → Products & Categories → Product Maintenance.

  2. Ensure Product Maintenance is ON and click Configure. 

  3. In Feature Options, scroll down to the Ribbon checkboxes.

  4. If disabled, tick Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag. 
     
  5. Click Save.

  6. Scroll down to Contract Ribbon Options. Any existing contract ribbons are listed. 




  7. Go to Add Contract Ribbon Option. The values should match those used in your ERP.

    • Price Code - identifier code for the contract ribbon.
    • Contract Type - customer group to display this ribbon to. 
    • Contract Ribbon File Name - ribbon file uploader. TIP - Your Commerce Vision site comes with standard ribbons already preloaded. You can select one or create your own.  

  8. To add it, click Add Contract Ribbon.

  9. To save it, click Save at the top of the page.


Add a Contract Ribbon Override

Contract Ribbon Override lets you change the contract ribbon on a product flagged with a particular Price Code on your site. Example: A contract product is now backordered and you want the ribbon to alert customers.   

  1. In Product Maintenance Settings, tick Enable Contract Ribbon Overrides. NOTE - Ensure Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag is also ticked.



  2. Click Save.

  3. Scroll down to Contract Ribbon Options.

  4. Any existing contract ribbon has an Add Product Override button next to it. 

     
  5. Click Add Product Override.


  6. In Product Code, select the product.

  7. Use Filename to upload the alternate ribbon flag.
  8. Click Save & Exit. 

Check that the button has changed to Edit Product Override.


Bulk Import Products for Override

You can bulk import products and ribbons for an override. First, create a csv file with ProductCode and Filename as headers in Row 1. Each subsequent row contains a Product Code and the Contract Ribbon file name. NOTE - Ensure the image files have been uploaded to your site.

  1. In the Configure Contract Overrides screen, hover over Options, then click Upload List.


  2. Use the file upload tool.

Additional Contract Ribbon Tiers

For 4.37+ only

The standard Contract Ribbon feature works by identifying a contract ribbon through Price Code and Contract Type. Suppose further conditions are defined in your ERP to match multiple contract pricing levels. For example, you might have product groups where there are multiple price tiers or offers for different customers. Commerce Vision can implement an extension to contract ribbons so that one or more extra conditions can be used to further define when a contract ribbon applies. This allows more flexibility in creating contract flag tiers and variants.   

  1. In Product Maintenance Settings, tick Enable Contract Ribbon Type. NOTE - Ensure Enable Maintenance of Ribbon Flag is also ticked. Enable Contract Ribbon Overrides is optional.



  2. Click Save.

  3. Scroll down to Contract Ribbon Options.

  4. There are two extra fields: Contract Ribbon Type and Price Type. Price Code is still mandatory since it identitifes the Contract Ribbon to be used. The three other fields are optional and can be used to create a contract ribbon. Contract Ribbon Type is a condition integrated from the ERP. Price Type is online-based?   

    • Price Code - products with this price code to display this ribbon.
    • Contract Type - customer type to display this ribbon to. (Can be left blank.)
    • Contract Ribbon Type - Use for alternate or extra condition value. (Can be left blank.)
    • Price Type - Use for alternate or extra condition value.
    • Contract Ribbon File Name - ribbon file uploader  

  5. Click Add Contract Ribbon.

  6. Click Save.


Create Custom Ribbon Flag


Creating your own flag

You can add your own custom ribbon flags.  

To ensure your ribbon flags are optimally sized and keep the look-and-feel of BPD ribbon flags, the following sample ribbon image (*.psd file) and font can be downloaded :
