Integrated with the Product Search with Preview widget, this widget controls the hierarchical list of categories that have products that match Controls the hierarchical category list structure for products matching the search keyword(s), when the Product Search With Preview Widget is used.

All Categories Expandable? 

Determines whether all categories are expandable or expanded. When OFF and both 'Always Expand Top Level?' and 'Always Expand Sub Levels?'' are OFF, all categories and subcategories display expanded.

If ON and the 'Always Expand Top Level?' is ON, only the top level categories are displayed. The user clicks on the arrow to open the category.

If ON and only the 'Always Expand Sub Levels?' is ON, the last subcategory (if there is one) is displayed.

Category URL Prefix The results URL used to list the category clicked.

When you type the user enters a keyword into the Search with Preview prompt boxtool, a hierarchical list of categories will display displays down the left -hand side of the results view. If you they click one of these categories, the Category URL Prefix denotes is the name of the top category from which for the results will display

For instance:

  • Our site domain is https://all-products-r-us and we set the category URL prefix value to categoryURLprefix.
  • We run a search that and get results in a category hierarchy of Sports & Outdoors > Camping > Tents.
  • We click on 'Camping' to display everything in that category.
  • The search results will begin from: https://all-products-r-us/categoryURLprefix/sports-and-outdoors/camping

This value might be useful as an interim measure if your site has undergone a restructure.

The default value is empty, resulting in so the URL following just follows the product category hierarchy.

Always Expand Top Level? Use this button to automatically (or not) unfold the product categories from the top to sub-levels.If this button is ON, then

(See All Categories Expandable? field.) When ON, the category hierarchy will

expand

display expanded from top to sub levels.

 When this button is turned OFF, you can click the V to open the sub-category levels.


Default is : ON.

Always Expand Sub Levels?

Use this button to automatically (or not) unfold the sub-category hierarchy.

When OFF, then you the user must click to unfold open each product sub-category. If this button is OFF , but the Always Expand Top Level? button is ON, then the top two levels expand, but you the user must click the down-arrow to display the lowest sub-category.
