Menu items are used to control the permissions of web pages to a group of audience. Menu codes are set against each role and can be shared across different roles.

Use menu items to maintain the following properties:

  • Menu Title
  • Authentication
  • Head and Layout Template that determines the look of the page

Step-by-step guide

To Create a New Menu Item on an Existing Menu:

  1. Login as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to 'Content' --> 'Menu Editor' (zMenus.aspx).
  3. Select the required 'Menu Code' via radio button.
  4. Click on 'Parent Items' (this is the list of top level menu items).
  5. Identify where the new content should be located with respect to your navigation structure (For example, it can be at the Top of the Navigation, or in the Footer, or as a hidden link that you can use and post on Social Media so users who arrive at the site will not see it).
  6. If this is a top level item, continue. If this is a sub-level Item, identify the parent item, then click 'Menu Items'.
  7. Click 'New' to create a new Menu Item.
  8. Set the value of the fields as detailed in the table below.
  9. Click 'OK' to save.
