Content Lock is a CV ecommerce multisite content management feature. It can also be used to restrict content editing to specific roles on a single site. Contact Commerce Vision to enable.

Requires: 2022:3.

How Content Lock Works

Content Administrator role: When Content Lock is enabled on your site, this role is added.

  • a content-controlling role in your CMS. Users with this Content Administrator role can:
  • lock and unlock content objects
  • add, edit and delete locked objects
  • control deploy settings (if Deploy Content is used with Lock Content)  

Single site use

Content Lock allows the Content Administrator 

Multisite networks

Deploy Content must also be enabled on the source site.

CMS Administrators and Content Administrators can enable and disable the content locking feature on the parent site after implementation by Commerce Vision.  


To enable/disable locking:


  1. In the CMS, go to SettingsSettingsFeature Management ContentContent Lock.

  2. Toggle ON/OFF Content Lock

CMS Roles

By default, the Administrator and Content Administrator roles are able to lock/unlock a content area.
