Data can be imported to selected tables using the General Data Import feature. This is only for web site administrators. 

 

Step-by-step guide

  1. Login as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to "Content"  and then  "Import Data"
  3. To create a New Import Profile, select "New Import Profile"
    1. Select the table to be imported. (warning) Note that Commerce Vision can enable the tables that are allowed to be imported to. Please request table access from Commerce Vision to ensure data integrity between ERP and web is maintained.
    2. Select the fields to be imported. Note that the key to the table will automatically be selected. (warning) Note that Commerce Vision can enable the tables that are allowed to be imported to.     3. Select "Save"  to save or "Run" to run without saving.
    4. If "Save"  was selected, enter the profile name to save as.
    5. Select "Save"  to save or "Save and Run" to save and run now.
  4. To run an existing import profile
    1. Find the profile you wish to run (search is provided)
    2. Select "Run"
    3. The required fields are listed at the top of the page. The CSV file needs to be in this format.
    4. Select optional functions:
      1. Replace Table - this will delete ALL records in the table and then replace the data in the CSV file to the table
      2. Ignore headings on first line - this will skip the first line in the file.
    5. Either use the "Select" option to browse for the file to import or drag and drop into the drop zone. (warning) Note that not all browsers support "drag and drop". The program will display a message if it is supported.
    6. Click on "Import Now" - the file will be imported and any errors will be displayed.

 

When exporting, there is a handy function to allow the download of a blank CSV file that will put the headings in the first row. This is useful to get the file format correct.
