For sites on version 3.87+, the Cart Summary link can produce a pop-up window previewing the contents and cost of of the user's shopping cart. This is useful for allowing the user a quick look at their shopping basket, without navigating them away from the products they're currently browsing.

This guide details the implementation of Cart Preview functionality for BPD sites.

 

Step-by-step guide 

  1. Login to the CMS.
  2. Navigate to Content --> Theme Layout.
  3. Locate the 'Cart Summary' widget and click 'Edit'.
  4. Tick the 'Cart Preview on Hover?' option.
     
  5. Click to expand the Cart Preview On Hover widget options.
  6. Update values as required. Fields are documented here, and are initially set to their default values. 
     
  7. Click 'Save'.
  8. In another browser or incognito window, launch your website. 
  9. Add products to the cart and hover over the cart link. 
  10. Verify that the summary pop-up appears on hover.

 

Congratulations - your site's cart preview functionality is now implemented!
