This feature needs to be switched on for your site by Commerce Vision. 

Overview

A product search tool is one of the most accessed area on an ecommerce website. Visitors and customers head for the Search tool to find products and content. With Product Search Preview Content, you can add a space to the right of your Commerce Vision Search tool. This can be used to highlight products, alert users to new content, even external pages. Just add images, text and links.


The content displays when the user clicks in the Search box. It will disappear as soon as the user starts typing in the Search box.  



Step-by-step guide

To enable/disable this feature:

  1. Go to SettingsFeature ManagementProducts & Categories.

  2. Ensure Product Search Features is toggled ON, then click Configure.

  3. Toggle ON Enable Product Search Preview Default Template or use the Override feature to restrict access.

  4. Click Save.

  5. The Product Search Preview Default Template is where content is added. To access it from here, click the button. 

    If the Product Search Preview Default Template is empty,

    1. Go to the Product Search with Preview Widget in the Theme Layout template (ContentPages & TemplatesTheme Layout)
    2. Click Edit.
    3. Toggle ON Enable Default Template.



Add Search preview content

  1. Go to ContentPages & Templates.

  2. Use the Search tool to find the Product Search Preview Default Template. NOTE - If you are an administrator, you can access it from Product Search settings.



  3. Click Edit.

  4. Add widgets. These widgets have been created for this space:

    • Custom_Image with Title and Link Widget - add a tile with title,text, image and link
    • Custom_Image Tile - add an image tile with overlaying text
    • Custom_Image with Link - add an image with link
    • Any suitable and available widget, e.g., HTML Snippet Widget.
